This year, Akademos Society received 42 applications for the Akademos Scholarship. The applicants provided extensive information about their financial circumstances and past academic performance, including but not limited to transcripts, certificates, and reference letters. 17 candidates were shortlisted and interviewed for a total of seven hours. Their academic performance, extracurricular activities, and financial vulnerabilities were assessed for the grant of the scholarships. 12 applicants have now been selected for the grant of Akademos scholarship for the academic year 2017-2018.
We owe a debt gratitude to Mr Muhammad Mehdi from Ummat Educational & Cultural Organization and Mr Ali Akbar from Hazara Town for their invaluable contribution and dedication towards making this possible. And we thank our supporters, donors, and well-wishers for their encouragement and contribution.

“I have been a high-achieving student but i am from a vulnerable family. My father ig a labourer in Iran, and he is our only bread-winner. As a girl, I feel that our community does not avail to us the game o nities that are available to boys. This scholarship will help me continue my studies, and overcome my financial vulnerability.”
“My father is a teacher. He has worked hard to educate my siblings. He recently survived a brain-tumor, and is not able to help us. I have been a high-achieving student throughout my student life. This scholarship will help me overcome the social and financial challenges, and enable me to continue my education.”
“My father is a police constable. He is the only bread-winner of our family of 8. I have remained a position holder throughout school but financial burdens have created hurdles for me and my family. This scholarship will help me maintain my position and performance. I will become a doctor and serve my community.”
“My father is a school teacher. He has worked hard to educate us. He recently survived a brain-tumor, and is not able to help us. I
have been a position holder throughout my student life. This scholarship will help me overcome the social and financial challenges, and enable me to study to become a neurosurgeon.”
“After my father’s passing, my uncle has paid for my education. He will rot be able to continue doing so. have had on extra time at a tailor’s shop to get more work to pay for my expenses. This scholarship will help me stand on my own feet, pay for my educational expenses, and help me graduate as a software engineer.”
“My father is a shopkeeper. He is not able to support our family of 3 and pay for my educational expenses. I have always been a position holder throughout my school years. This scholarship will help me maintain my position and get quality education. I will become a doctor and spread knowledge.”
“Given my parents’ separation, my mother had worked hard to support me and my siblings. With the support from this
scholarship, I can work hard to reach my goals without adding a burden on my mother’s shoulders. My dream is to become a heart-surgeon and save lives.”
“My father, a tiler, can not pay for the expenses of my family of given persons. I really need this scholarship to help me shape my future and that of my people. i want to invest myself in getting education go that I can help those in my situation. I am also a volunteer teacher.”
“My father is a mechanic, and he does not have the resources to pay for my education. I had no hope of fulfilling my dream of coming a good doctor. Higher education shouldn't just be for the rich people. We should all be able to get it. This scholarship will help me become a doctor and gave lives."
“My father’s income barely pays for the meals for our family of 9. (lack the space, time and opportunity to undertake proper studies. This scholarship will help me nourish my particular talent and interest in Math and Physics. I wish to study business after completing college.”
“My father, a labourer, is unable to support my educational expenses. This scholarship will support me when no on else will. Chemistry and Maths are my favourite subjects. I will pursue a career in one of these fields after completing my FSc.”

I need this scholarship to continue my studies, attain good grades, and secure a seat to study medicine. I will continue this tradition of helping those in need when i become a doctor.”
