Akademos Study Grant provides financial assistance to tertiary students who are unable to pursue their higher education goals due to socio-economic circumstances. The program provides mentoring support and covers full tuition of the grant recipients throughout their University degree, including payment for lodgings and hostel accomodation where required.
Akademos currently supports eight female students in Afghanistan and Pakistan to complete their undergraduate degree through this grant program. They are:
Faiza Mustafa has been the recipient Akademos Study Grant since 2023. She is pursuing a Doctor of Physiotherapy (DPT) at the Bolan University of Medical and Health Sciences. She has secured a seat on open merit.
Faiza is multi-talented. She has been an English language instructor and a debater. She is an aspiring doctor and hopes to use her skills to specialise in women’s health. She aspires to educate women and the broader public about the importance of physiotherapy and physical health.
Fatima Batool is a Doctor of Pharmacy student at the Punjab University College of Pharmacy. She attained the seat on a competitive merit basis. She aspires to become a licensed pharmacist and undertake work in industrial and research sectors.
Fatima is also a pharmacy health club activist, where she directs and manages blood drivers for thalassemia patients. She has also led career counselling events in Quetta, and provided guidance and assistance to students about career pathways.
Nida Fatima is a Computer Science student at the Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences. She is also a former Akademos Scholar, having completed her ICS through support from Akademos Scholarship.
Nida lost her father to a terrorist attack in 2018. She aspires to use her education and skills to support vulnerable members of the community and you students. She is a debater and an active member of a community youth group.
Rahima Ali Dad is a Computer Science student at Lahore Garrison University. She has been an Akademos Study Grant recipient since 2022. She aspires to become a Software Engineer and work in the Information Technology sector.
In addition to being a brilliant student, Rahim is also a very talented sportswoman. She has been a Wushu gold medallist and a Taekwondo silver medallist in the national games.
Sajjad Hussain is a Bachelor of Law (LLB) at the University of Central Punjab. He aspires to be a lawyer and establish an organisation to provide legal aid and legal education to the underprivileged.
Sajjad is former Akademos Scholar, having completed his college education at the Tamir-e-Nau Public College with support from Akademos Scholarship. Sajjad has remained a high-achieving student in school and college. Sajjad is also an avid debater, having participated and won awards at numerous local and national competitions.
Shamsia Iqbal Ali is a Bachelor of Computer Science at the University of Lahore. She aspires to complete her education and become a programmer.
Shamsia is also a passionate soccer player, having participated in and won awards at numerous tournaments and captained her team. She has been a student volunteer and worked with various community and student organisations.
Shamsia is a former Akademos Scholar, having completed her Intermediate in Computer Science at Islamia Girls College through support from Akademos Scholarship.
Shukria Rahmatullah is a final year student of Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at the Sahiwal Medical College in Sahiwal. She secured the seat through the Pakistan Technical Assistance program for refugees. Shukria is a short step away from realising her dream of becoming a doctor.
Shukria is a former Akademos Scholar, having completed her FSc in 2020 through support from Akademos Scholarship. She has remained an active student throughout her school, college and university education.
Wajeha Ghulam Raza is a student of Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology at the Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences.
Wajeha is a former Akademos Scholar, having completed her college education from Islamic Girls College through support from Akademos Scholarship.
Wajeha is also an English language instructor. She has been high-achieving student throughout her school and college education.
