Akademos Study Grant provides financial assistance to tertiary students who are unable to pursue their higher education goals due to socio-economic circumstances. The program provides mentoring support and covers full tuition of the grant recipients throughout their University degree, including payment for lodgings and hostel accomodation where required.
Akademos currently supports eight female students in Afghanistan and Pakistan to complete their undergraduate degree through this grant program. They are:
- Masooma Moravej, student of Bachelor of Engineering at Aburayhan Institute of Higher Education, Kabul
- Mursal Salihy, student of Bachelor of Business Administration at Kateb University, Kabul
- Shukria Rahmatullah, student of Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at Sahiwal Medical College, Sahiwal
- Khadija Ahmad, student of Doctor of Pharmacy at Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad
- Wajeeha Ghulam Raza, student of Bachelor of Science (Biotechnology) at Balochistan University of Information Technology and Management Sciences (BUITEMS), Quetta
- Rahima Ali Dad, student of Bachelor of Science (Computer Science) at Lahore Garrison University, Lahore
- Sughra Rajab Ali, student of Bachelor of Science (English Literature) at University of Lahore, Lahore
- Shamsia Iqbal Ali, student of Bachelor of Science (Computer Science) at University of Lahore, Lahore
Our inaugural recipient of the Akademos Study Grant, Masooma Moravej is an inspiring and courageous young student who has braved street harassment and social stigma to run a small business as well as continuing her education. She attends Alberoni University and aspires to become a civil engineer.
Shukria Rahmatullah is a former Akademos scholar from the 2018-2020 batch of our Akademos Scholarship program which supported her to complete college education. Powering ahead, she has secured a place to study MBBS at the Sahiwal Medical College, which will be partially supported through the Akademos Study Grant program.
Khadija Ahmadi was a recipient of the Prime Minister's scholarship program for Afghan nationals to study Doctor of Pharmacy at Quaid-i-Azam University in Islamabad. She is a highly talented and resilient student whom Akademos Study Grant will support to complete final year of her degree.
Wajeeha Ghulam Raza is former Akademos scholar from 2019-2021 batch of our Akademos Scholarship program which supported her to complete college education. Wajeeha will be supported through Akademos Study Grant to complete her tertiary education at Balochistan University of Information Technology and Management Sciences (BUITEMS).
Sughra Rajab Ali is a former Akademos scholar from the 2020-2022 batch of our Akademos Scholarship program which supported her to complete college studies. A professional football player, she has secured a place reserved for athletes and professional players, to study BS (English Literature) at the University of Lahore. Akademos Study Grant will provide a monthly allowance to cover her non-tuition educational expenditure.
Shamsia Iqbali Ali is a former Akademos scholar from the 2020-2022 batch of our Akademos Scholarship program which supported her to complete college studies. A professional football player, she has secured a place reserved for athletes and professional players, to study BS (Computer Science) at the University of Lahore. Akademos Study Grant will provide a monthly allowance to cover her non-tuition educational expenditure.
